New energy sources in our city mainly include nuclear power, wind power and gas power, as well as equipment manufacturing industries for these clean energy sources. The biggest part of this is nuclear power. The total investment of Taishan Nuclear Power Project, which was officially started at the end of last year, reached 50.2 billion yuan. At present, the first two units of the first phase of the project have a stand-alone capacity of 1.75 million kilowatts. It is currently the world's largest single-unit nuclear power unit. The two units will be put into commercial operation at the end of 2013 and October 2014 respectively.

In terms of new materials, the city also has a relatively large breakthrough in new chemical materials. Jiangmen's original traditional industry, chemical fiber textiles, ranks first in Guangdong Province and ranks third in the country. On the basis of upgrading these traditional industries, the city is accelerating the development of new chemical materials – high-strength special fibers. The industry currently has two leading enterprises, Kaiping Xinda Chemical Fiber and Xinhui Caiyan Aramid, and the company's benefits are very good, basically no pollution, almost zero emissions can be achieved.

The circular economy pilot has obvious results

In terms of circular economy, the city has three national and two provincial-level circular economy pilots, and more than 10 enterprises have already piloted. Wang Nanjian said that the implementation of the circular economy pilot program seems to work well: the highly polluting and high-emission enterprises, such as paper, textile, printing and dyeing, have become cleaner producers after they have developed a circular economy. enterprise.

Wang Nanjian also cited an example of the Xinhui Yinzhou Lake Paper Base: According to the plan, the base will reach a production capacity of 10 million tons and an output value of 500 billion.
