Now, the company is taking a crucial step forward by launching a preview of its software development kits (SDKs) and a developer portal, allowing external developers to create content for the Magic Leap One. The developer portal includes a range of resources such as tutorials, a technical support community, and a “Magic Leap Simulator†that lets developers test their applications before deployment. Additionally, the portal hints at the upcoming launch of an app store called “Magic Leap World,†which could become a central hub for AR experiences on the platform.
With the final release of the headset, SDK, and developer tools, Magic Leap is now stepping into the competitive AR market. The company has raised over $2.3 billion so far, making it one of the most funded AR startups in history. However, it’s facing stiff competition from Microsoft’s HoloLens, which has already been on the market for over two years. As Magic Leap One prepares for its official launch, it may even coincide with the release of a second-generation HoloLens.
