Recently, the first LED general lighting products and technology seminar jointly organized by China Lighting Society and Shenzhen Zhongming Semiconductor Lighting Co., Ltd. was held in Beijing. The meeting invited more than 300 leaders from the relevant national ministries and commissions and experts and scholars in the lighting industry. At the meeting, industry experts made academic reports on the status quo and trends of semiconductor lighting development, the application of LED indoor lighting products, the key points of China's new LED standards, and LED related standards in Europe and the United States and other countries and regions. The participants agreed that LED has a very broad development prospect in the field of indoor lighting.

Optimistic development prospects for energy saving space

With the rapid development of the economy, the proportion of lighting electricity to the total energy consumption of the society is increasing. Increasing lighting efficiency and saving energy have become an important means of alleviating the tension of electricity consumption. LED is known as green energy. The product does not contain substances harmful to the environment and human body such as mercury and lead. At the same brightness, the power consumption is only 1/10 of that of ordinary incandescent lamps, and the life can be extended by 50 times. Because of this, since the new century, the country has vigorously promoted LED products. In 2003, China launched the National Semiconductor Lighting Project. In 2009, it launched the Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Plan to promote the application of LEDs. Some experts predict that by 2015, by promoting LED, it can save 40 billion kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to 40 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

Wang Jinxi, chairman of the China Lighting Association, said at the forum that LED is a green energy-saving lighting product, and its technology is maturing. It has begun to move from the field of indication, display and decoration to the general lighting field. With the continuous improvement of its technology, its development prospects will be even broader. Yan Jun, deputy secretary-general of the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance, also pointed out that in the past 10 years, LED has developed rapidly and its performance has increased by 10 times. At present, the most advanced LED products in the world, the light efficiency can reach 200lm/W. By 2020, LED is expected to occupy 80% of the lighting market. Under the guidance of the national macro-policy, LED technology has accelerated, the industry has been continuously upgraded, LED demonstration effects have gradually emerged, products have become more sophisticated, and the application of indoor lighting has become more mature.

Rapid development of domestic enterprises

The "Opinions on the Development of Semiconductor Lighting Energy-Saving Industry" promulgated in 2009 clearly stated that by 2015, the annual output of semiconductor lighting energy-saving industry will increase by about 30%, and large-scale MOCVD equipment, key raw materials and more than 70% of chips will be localized, upstream chips. There are 35 large-scale production enterprises. This has undoubtedly brought huge development space for domestic enterprises.

Qi Jun said that under the guidance of macroeconomic policies, domestic enterprises have begun to gradually shift from the initial OEM to the ODM model. At present, China's LED industry chain has been gradually improved, the industry has begun to take shape, and the localization rate of chips has been continuously improved. Compared with the situation in which foreign brands outnumbered a few years ago, they are now beginning to have a place in the mid-to-high-end market.

For this point of view, Xue Xinyi, the chairman of Shenzhen Zhongming Semiconductor Lighting Co., Ltd., has made a strong proof of the company's products. Promotion should be gradual and the market still needs to be improved

At present, the development of LED technology is changing with each passing day. In the opinion of industry experts, it is more prudent to promote LEDs in this situation. In particular, it should be selected for lighting applications that match the current LED technology. At the forum, Ren Yuanhui, honorary director of the Interior Lighting Professional Committee of the China Lighting Society, said that the promotion of LED in the general lighting field needs to be gradual. For example, LEDs are currently being promoted in road lighting. The technology is not yet fully mature, and some theoretically claimed effects of 80% energy savings compared to high-pressure sodium lamps are not achieved. Therefore, it is now possible to try to promote it on some roads and residential roads. Don't start from the beginning and take a steady development path. He suggested that it can be promoted in indoor lighting first, and the energy-saving advantages of LED in this field are obvious. Ren Yuanhui said that several light bulbs of Zhongming Company exhibited at this forum can completely replace the bulbs of spotlights, incandescent lamps and crystal lamps in hotel lighting. The application of LEDs in these fields has become a matter of course and can be promoted on a large scale. use.

As far as the LED industry is concerned, although the current development momentum is good, it still has to face up to its problems. Qi Jun pointed out that there are still many problems in the industry that need to be solved: for example, there is still a lack of standards and testing methods, and the quality of some pilot applications is poor, and the energy-saving effect is difficult to achieve; the exploration of engineering implementation methods to adapt to the market economic system is not enough. If these problems can be solved gradually, it can promote the more benign development of the LED industry.
