The two sides have promoted mutual certification of cross-strait optoelectronic product standards testing, and finally made initial progress.

The "Ministry of Economic Affairs" officials pointed out that the central economic work conference held at the end of last year of the mainland set the tone for the development of low-carbon green energy production capacity. For the development of green energy industry, the mainland has pushed the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities" plan, and it is expected that LED street lights in 2010 Growing at least 2 million, the business opportunities are quite amazing. According to the letter of intent signed by both parties, in the mutual authentication of LED standard testing, Taiwan will be the cooperation window of the LED Lighting Testing Laboratory of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and the Beijing National Electric Light Source Quality Supervision and Inspection Center will carry out the mutual authentication cooperation of LED standard testing. The two parties will jointly develop mutual certification standards for high-power LED module standards and life test methods.

"Ministry of Economic Affairs" officials said that the standard inspection of LED lighting on both sides of the strait, once the mutual recognition is completed, the LED lighting products that Taiwanese manufacturers sell to the mainland in the future, as long as they pass the test of the Institute of Industrial Technology, they are expected to be recognized on the mainland, without having to repeat the inspection. This is of great significance to Taiwan’s business opportunities for mainland LED street lights.

Officials said that the next step of the "Ministry of Economic Affairs" will seek to set a standard cooperation for the scale of industry standards such as third-generation mobile communication standards (TD-SCDMA) and e-books, and hopes to have sufficient opinions with representatives and experts on the opposite side of the industry. Communication can promote the long-term goal of mutual common industry standards.
