HTC Vive is one of the most impressive virtual reality headsets available for gaming today. According to recent reports, HTC announced on Twitter ahead of CES 2018 that the Vive VR headset will receive a major visual upgrade. This news has generated a lot of excitement among VR enthusiasts and gamers alike.

Currently, the Vive offers a single-eye resolution of 1080 x 1200 pixels. However, the upcoming generation is expected to bring significant improvements. Some rumors suggest that the new model could feature a 4K resolution, which would make the visuals even more immersive and lifelike. In addition to higher resolution, other components such as the Knuckles controllers may also see upgrades, enhancing the overall user experience.

This development could be connected to the Vive Focus, a wireless VR headset launched in November. The Focus uses a 3K AMOLED display (2880x1600 pixels) powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip, offering a more mobile and flexible VR experience. It's possible that some of the advancements from the Focus could influence the next version of the Vive.
The current Vive is priced at $599, down from its original launch price of $799. With the release of the new model, it's likely that the older version will see further price reductions. At the same time, HTC may need to adjust pricing to stay competitive with Oculus Rift, which is currently selling for around $399.
HTC is set to reveal more details about the new product on January 8. Fans are eagerly waiting to learn more about what’s coming next in the world of VR. Whether it's better graphics, improved controllers, or enhanced performance, this update could mark an important step forward for the Vive line.
