Geotextile Disc Sampler: Structure and Usage Guide

Structure and Adjustment:

1. The cutter blade consists of four double-sided blades, evenly distributed in four equal sections. Each blade is replaceable. To replace it, loosen the five Phillips screws (four on each blade), remove the six-blade platen and the four sampling blades, install a new set, press the platen back into place, ensuring that the blade edges are aligned in a flat plane, and then tighten the screws securely.

2. A marked area is located at the bottom of the device, designed to hold the fabric in place during cutting, preventing slippage and ensuring a clean cut.

3. A knurled disc is positioned beneath the corrugated handwheel, allowing for thickness adjustment. To adjust, loosen the three locking screws, rotate the knurled disc (clockwise to reduce thickness, counterclockwise to increase), and once the desired thickness is achieved, retighten the screws to secure the setting.

Usage Instructions:

1. Select the fabric you wish to cut, measure its thickness, and adjust the disc sampler accordingly using the steps outlined above.

2. Place the fabric on a cork mat, position the disc sampler on top of the fabric, and hold the cover with one hand to stabilize it.

3. With the other hand, grip the corrugated handwheel and apply gentle pressure. Rotate the handwheel clockwise by more than 90 degrees to cut out a round sample. This ensures a precise and clean cut without damaging the surrounding material.
