Vishay Introduces New Enhanced Rectifier Series Devices

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced a new family of enhanced high current density Power BridgeTM rectifiers rated at 10A to 25A and rated peak reverse voltages from 600V to 1000V.

The more advanced thermal construction of the Power Bridge device improves heat dissipation efficiency compared to the larger bridge rectifiers on the market. As a result, Power Bridge rectifiers offer the same power rating as larger products and require fewer heat sinks.

Single-phase rectifiers are therefore the best bridge-to-DC converters for switching power supplies to desktop PCs, servers, plasma TVs, LCD TVs, audio/video systems, notebook computers, and display adapters. Power converters for household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and induction heating systems; and main rectifier circuits that match the switching power supply of telecommunications systems.

For OEM vendors, the new devices offer packages, pin pitches, and pin designs that are compatible with traditional GBU packages. Bridge rectifiers of all rated voltages and currents use the same PCB design, saving time. Thanks to manual welding, the +260oC, 40 second immersion tin process ensures extremely high reliability.

Samples and production quantities of these new Power Bridge rectifiers are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders.
