TSMC Chairman: The semiconductor industry is improving
Zhang Zhongmou, chairman of TSMC, said that the prospects for the semiconductor industry are better than a month ago. TSMC predicted at the beginning of this year that due to the global economic crisis affecting consumer demand, TSMC's sales revenue in 2009 will drop by 30%.
Zhang Zhongmou said at the Economic Summit held in Taipei in the European Chamber of Commerce that the state of the semiconductor industry is slightly better than a month ago. However, sales will still drop a lot compared to last year.
