(1) Energy saving:

a. When using a traditional inductive ballast, the operating frequency of the fluorescent lamp is 50HZ.

When using an electronic ballast, the operating frequency of the fluorescent lamp is 3050HZ.

Practice has shown that when the fluorescent lamp is operated at this frequency, the brightness is increased by about 14% when operating at 50 Hz, that is, the electronic ballast can output less power to the fluorescent lamp when the fluorescent lamp reaches the same light output.

b. Traditional inductive ballasts consume more power than electronic ballasts themselves.

c. The use of electronic ballasts can significantly reduce grid load and grid losses.

(2) Requirements for Kaihui conditions:

a. Temperature: Inductive ballasts must be energized above 10C due to the small energy that is excited at startup, and the electronic ballast can still start normally at -25 °C.

b. Voltage: Inductive ballast cannot start when the power supply voltage is less than 180V: the electronic ballast can still start normally when the grid voltage is 100V.

(3) Impact on lamp life:

a. The effect of the illuminating process on the life of the lamp: Inductive ballasts often have to be ignited several times to illuminate the fluorescent lamps, while fluorescent lamps are shortened by two hours for each ignition: electronic ballasts are at low temperatures In the case of low voltage, it is turned on after the filament is preheated.

b. Grid voltage fluctuation on the life of the lamp 0 direction: When the magnetic ballast works with the fluorescent lamp, the lamp current of the fluorescent lamp changes with the change of the grid voltage. When the grid voltage is low, the lamp current also decreases. The reduction of the lamp current will cause insufficient heating of the filament, and the filament electronic powder will be sputtered, causing blackening of the two ends of the lamp and shortening the service life of the lamp. When the power supply voltage is high, the lamp current also rises. If the lamp current is too large, the filament electronic powder and the phosphor will prematurely fail and the lamp life will be shortened. The electronic gap can achieve the same lamp current in the grid voltage range of 135V250V, so that the fluorescent lamp always works at the optimum state, thereby greatly improving the service life of the lamp.

(4) Environmental impact of ballasts:

a. Noise: The inductance ballast is noisy.

b. Strobe: Generally use electronic ballasts, people check the strobe of the lights.

c. Temperature rise: Due to the large loss of the magnetic ballast itself, the temperature is high during operation; the maximum temperature of the surface of the electronic ballast is generally about 50 degrees.

d. Electromagnetic interference: electromagnetic interference generated when the electronic ballast works
