By 2018, QD TV shipments will increase to 18.7 million units.

Paul Gray, director of European research at IHS DisplaySearch, said: "Although LCD technology has no doubt ruled the TV field, manufacturers continue to innovate to bring more added value to consumers. IHS DisplaySearch predicts that the production of curved TVs will reach 1.8 million units in 2014, and will reach peak shipments of 8.2 million units in 2016 and 2017. As western European consumers are keen on unique designs and TV market share is dominated by Samsung, IHS DisplaySearch analysts predict that Western Europe will become the main market for curved TVs, with shipments in 2016 and 2017 reaching 2.6 million units.
