1. Cleverly replace O-rings: During maintenance, it's common to face challenges in finding the right O-rings, which can delay the entire repair process. To speed things up, you can creatively replace the O-rings. For example, if the O-ring at a pipe joint is damaged, cut an O-ring with the same diameter but slightly larger outer diameter using scissors. Then, trim the excess part according to the size of the installation groove, cutting it at a 45° angle. Insert it into the groove and press it tightly. When replacing the O-ring on a sealing cover, apply AB glue to the cross-section and wait until it’s fully bonded before installing it. 2. Fix hydraulic system leaks: In some hydraulic systems, pipe joints are connected using special hollow bolts with undercuts. Due to the small size of the undercut, the combined washer may shift during installation, causing oil leakage. To prevent this, wrap the hollow bolt with raw material or plastic rope to slightly increase its outer diameter. Then install the combined washer to avoid any leakage. 3. Adjust fuel injection advance angle: Different diesel engines have different fuel injection advance angles. Manufacturers usually mark the correct angle on the flywheel, but it can be hard to locate quickly. Here’s a simple method to adjust the fuel injection advance angle for a 4135 diesel engine: First, rotate the flywheel clockwise according to the valve timing so that the first cylinder is at the top dead center of the compression stroke. Then, loosen the two bolts on the fuel pump drive shaft and the high-pressure fuel pipe nut of the first cylinder. Rotate the flywheel counterclockwise by 9 teeth. Next, turn the fuel injection pump coupling clockwise until the oil level in the high-pressure fuel pipe of the first cylinder just begins to move. Finally, tighten the two bolts and the high-pressure fuel pipe nut. Tighten the clamp to compress the seal’s diameter to 40 mm. Then, align the piston with the cylinder port and gently tap the piston rod to fit it in. Once in place, release the clamp, remove the tools, and install the end cover.
