According to reports, the Pearl River Delta is the global lighting industry base, Guangzhou has gradually become the largest lighting exhibition center in Asia, and its development direction has become a barometer of the industry. Hu Zhongshun, the person in charge of the Organizing Committee of the 2008 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, confirmed that more than 50 Taiwan-funded enterprises will participate in the exhibition held at the Guangzhou Pazhou Convention and Exhibition Center from the 8th to the 11th. Most of the lighting and lighting industries in the front-end enterprises are exporting, which is relatively unfamiliar to the domestic market, and the cognition is relatively slow. They rarely participate in business activities in the domestic market. However, more than 50 Taiwanese companies have come to the seminar, and they are big brands such as Taiwan University, Taiwan Everlight and Taiwan Foxconn.
Dou Linping, deputy secretary general of China Lighting Association, told reporters that in addition to the market focus shifting to the mainland, most of the production enterprises of Taiwan-funded enterprises have already transferred. Now there are 700 to 800 Taiwan-funded enterprises in the mainland, most of which are in the Pearl River Delta. And the Yangtze River Delta, the number of Taiwan-funded lighting enterprises in Guangdong has reached five or six hundred. Moreover, lighting products belong to civilian products and are also consumables. In the past 10 years, the annual growth rate has been more than double digits.
Dou Linping also told reporters that in terms of market competition, Taiwanese companies are no better than mainland enterprises. They used to do OEM sales, and marketing in the Mainland may not keep up. However, due to the rapid growth of domestic demand, especially the younger generation is increasingly pursuing fashion and innovation in lighting design, lighting products are also updated relatively quickly, so Taiwan-funded enterprises should be able to share a new growth point in the entire market.
