National Grid launches full power fiber-to-the-home business operations

On August 3, the State Grid Corporation’s electric fiber-to-the-home business operation model exchange meeting was held. This conference is an important meeting for the transformation of power FTTH projects from pilot construction to scale construction and operation, which marks the start of full-scale FTTH business operations. The company's Ministry of Science and Technology, 8 provincial companies, Luneng, as well as State Grid Power Research Institute State Power Corporation, Shanghai Wenguang, Euromemoire and other representatives.

After attending a special speech on the business model and experience of the power fiber-to-the-home business of the relevant units, the delegates held discussions on issues such as the development of electricity fiber-to-the-home business in 2012 and the working ideas and fully exchanged opinions. During the conference, State Power Research Institute State Power Corporation conducted a demonstration of smart home appliances control and video services for the delegates. After the meeting, delegates visited the electric fiber-to-the-home pilot project of Hebei Electric Power Company.

Since 2010, all units of the company's system have successively launched the power fiber-to-the-home construction project. In 2010 and 2011, 41,000 and 237,000 households were respectively constructed. As of early August, the pilot units of the company's system have completed the construction of 252,000 FTTH households.
