Development and Reform Commission: Supporting Jiangsu's wind power technology innovation

Recently, Xu Dingming, deputy director of the National Energy Office, and Wu Guihui, deputy director of the Energy Development Bureau of the National Development and Reform Commission, and other officials of the energy department said at the International Symposium on China's Wind Power Diversification Strategy that the development of renewable energy is a support for sustainable development in China. The only way is that Jiangsu has the favorable conditions to accelerate the development of wind power, and support and encourage technological innovation in wind power generation.
The seminar was jointly sponsored by the China Macroeconomics Association, the China Renewable Energy Society, the China Wind Energy Association, and the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission. At the meeting, Chinese and foreign experts and scholars held a heated discussion on Dr. Gu Weidong's "China Wind Power Industry Development Strategy and Wind Power Non-Grid-Connected Theory". The theory of “wind power non-grid” proposed by Dr. Gu Weidong, director of the Policy Research Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, proposed a new path for the use of large-scale wind power. His non-in-grid experiment was designed on March 25, 2006. The conceptual experiment of the concept was completed in the Power Electronics Laboratory of Tsinghua University, which laid the foundation for the industrial pilot. According to the introduction, the Macroeconomic Research Institute of the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission closely focused on the hotspots and difficulties in economic and social development in recent years. The problem research has been carried out and a number of important achievements have been made. Among them, the research results of “Building China's Green Energy Capital” were awarded the Excellent Award by the National Development and Reform Commission, and the relevant recommendations have been adopted into the national “Eleventh Five-Year” development plan; the research results of “China Wind Power Industry Development Strategy” won the country. The Development and Reform Commission's System Wind Power Research Highest Achievement Award - the second prize of the 2005 Outstanding Research Achievements, and was highly praised by the authorities of the International Energy Research Institute. At the end of 2005, China's wind power installed capacity was 1.26 million kilowatts. The installed capacity of wind power that has been approved for construction in Jiangsu Province alone is as high as 1.45 million kilowatts.
Experts at home and abroad believe that the shallow sea radiation sandbars under the jurisdiction of Dongtai, Rudong and Dafeng in Jiangsu Province have unique advantages in wind power resources, and most of them along the coastline and tidal flats can become the base for building wind farms. Dongsha, located near the eastern end of Dongtai City and Dafeng City, is an ideal site for the construction of large-scale offshore wind farms around the world. The Dongtai 200,000 KW wind power concession project has started construction. This is the largest single-phase wind power project in China and the world, and the Jiangsu Dafeng, Rudong, Xiangshui, Binhai and Sheyang wind power projects have been started or approved for construction. The sea wind farm corridor will become a new pillar industry on the coastline of Jiangsu Province, which is nearly 1,000 kilometers away. Jiangsu will become the largest wind power industry base in China.
Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Bai Lijun, Secretary General of the National Development and Reform Commission Han Yongwen, President of the China Renewable Energy Society Shi Dinghuan, Academician Ni Weidou of Tsinghua University, China Wind Energy Association and Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission and other responsible comrades attended the meeting. The conference also presented the book "China Wind Power Industry Development Strategy and Wind Power Non-Grid-Connected Theory" edited by Dr. Gu Weidong, who won the second prize of the National Development and Reform Commission's outstanding achievements, to the first Chinese wind power major.
