Project Description
In order to meet the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, the Wuhan Municipal Government decided to build the Xinhai Revolution Museum (New Hall) and the Shouyi South Axis Urban Design in the Wuhan Shouyi Cultural District. Our company and East China Institute were invited to participate in the tender for the lighting of the museum restaurant. After the comparison, we were fortunate to be recognized by the owner and participated in the project.
At the beginning of the design, we conducted detailed project research and photographed the environment and historical humanities buildings in the museum and surrounding areas. At the same time, we also recall the historical significance of the Revolution of 1911. The Revolution of 1911 ended the empire of two thousand years, and at the same time established a democratic republican system, which is dilapidated and new. The original concept of architecture is "breaking out of the earth, and it is natural". At the same time, the shape of V symbolizes victory. The purpose of architecture reflects the historical significance of the Revolution of 1911. As a lighting design, we can't deviate from the architectural concept. The Revolution of 1911 is dilapidated, it is a new one, and it is a kind of inheritance. The people of Wuhan are brave enough to stand on the head. The spirit that dares to be the first in the world is this kind of inheritance. The theme of our lighting design is the Shuguang Shuying, the Sparks inheritance, the dawn symbolizes the Revolution of 1911, and the shadow is the V-shaped shape of the museum building itself. The whole theme illustrates the museum as a testimony of the revolution and carries forward the revolutionary spirit. Pass this spirit down.
Innovations in lighting design concepts, methods, etc.:
Keeping close to the theme of the Revolution of 1911, according to the historical significance of the "breaking the old and new" of the Revolution of 1911 and the design concept of "destroying the map, it is natural", the lighting design expresses the revolutionary spirit with the performance of "Dawn, Spark".
In order to realize the lighting concept, we need to cast the light as evenly as possible on the irregular building surface, and use the light projection to express the GRC texture of the building surface. For this we need to perform lighting calculations and field tests many times, and in the end When debugging, ensure the consistency of the projection angle of the luminaire.
In order to complete the creative concept of "Spark", it is necessary to use the LED control technology, the partition block to cast light, and the controllability of the LED, by the alternating dynamic effect of yellow and red, to create a feeling of flame. Because the projected exterior of the building itself is red, it is more difficult to project a bright yellow like the center of the flame on a red background. This has high requirements for the light source of the LED floodlight. Comparing the various mixed lights finally found the yellow color needed.
