The Malaysian Grand Prix Organizing Committee hopes that F1 Malaysia next year will be the second night race in F1 history.

This year, Singapore, which entered F1 for the first time, will host the first night event in F1 history, and other Asian countries are considering emulation. Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir, chairman of the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, said he hopes to hold another night F1 race in cooperation with Singapore through the Malaysian Grand Prix next year.

"Our goal is to use Singapore's experience to prepare lighting equipment and have a night race next year," Maheshhir said. “It (lighting system) is different from Singapore. Our lighting system may need to be taken farther, not just on the track. We are still discussing with manufacturers.”

It is reported that Sepang Circuit hopes to install a permanent lighting system. The lighting on the Singapore street track is only temporary.
