CLEAR plans LED tube test results are not in line with US DLC requirements

The LED tube test is tested according to the method required by the LM79-08 standard. The test items cover the total luminous flux, luminous efficiency, correlated color temperature, color rendering index, total harmonic distortion, power factor, etc., and the test results and the requirements of the US DLC. Perform an alignment analysis.

Compared with the latest DLC (V2.1) requirements in the United States, the test data of the 18 lamp samples tested did not meet the requirements; the 8 samples met the minimum luminous flux requirement, and the compliance rate was 44.4%; The sample meets the minimum light efficiency requirement, the compliance rate is 5.5%; 5 samples meet the color rendering index requirement, the coincidence rate is 27.7%; 3 samples meet the power factor requirement, the coincidence rate is 16.7%; 3 samples conform to THD (total harmonic) Wave distortion) requires a match rate of 16.7%.

No product meets the overall requirements of DLC for the product.

Considering that DLC requires a minimum luminous flux of 1600 lm and a minimum luminous efficiency of 100 lm/W, there is actually a rough estimate of the input power of the product. Basically, the power of the sample should be around 16 W. If the luminous efficiency is high, consider reducing the product. All the samples in this round of testing were purchased through e-commerce channels. The new marketing channel of e-commerce has brought a new opportunity for the promotion of LED lamps. E-commerce attracts people at low prices. Consumers want to buy cheap and easy-to-use things. However, from the actual test results, the concept of “good quality and low price” does not exist.

Among all the tested samples, only one sample showed light efficiency on the outer packaging, accounting for 5.6%; 13 samples identified luminous flux, accounting for 72.2%; 9 samples showed significant index, accounting for 50%. At present, there is no uniform mandatory requirement for the LED lighting product packaging logo in the Chinese market. Most manufacturers will wipe the ball on the packaging.

“This is to avoid the light efficiency parameter indicators.” An industry veteran said, “If the logo is clear, it is easy for ordinary consumers to calculate the difference between each W light effect and traditional energy-saving lamps.” LED lighting competes with traditional lighting for the market. However, the current price of LED lamps is still higher than traditional lighting under the same performance and quality, so manufacturers have to choose to wipe the ball on the packaging.

In terms of the comparison between the single measured and the nominal parameters of the sample package, the nominal luminous flux of the model of GC-T8-DG and 18W T8 is 2200-2400 lm, while the measured luminous flux is 1332 lm, an increase of 39.5%.

In terms of light efficiency, the average light efficiency of the 18 samples tested was 80.38 lm/W. Among them, the T5 tube of 14W of Nikko Lighting has a measured light effect of 54.4lm/W and the measured luminous flux is 672lm. The above-mentioned person said that the current mainstream efficacy of LED lamps is 85-95lm/W, and manufacturers with higher technical requirements will achieve about 100lm/W.

The correlated color temperature of all samples tested in this test does not meet the requirements of the latest DLC (V2.1) in the United States. The relevant color temperature of DLC requires less than 5000K. The reporter interviewed industry veterans, all said that the domestic LED industry does not have strict requirements for color temperature, and the manufacturers' color temperature indicators are all dependent on customer needs. "On the one hand is based on customer requirements, on the other hand is the comfort of the human body on the light, combined with the above two lamps color temperature is 5700K is more appropriate." Zhong Ming sales director Shi Hongsheng said.

Lin Min, a research and development engineer at Tuopu Lighting, said that different countries have different requirements for color temperature files. "There are more than 5000-5500K and 3000-3500K for customers."

China's LED industry has no standards, no brands, and the quality of its products is uneven. The entire industry is in a state of melee. Yang Dong believes that the development of China's LED lighting industry is exactly the same as that of the previous promotion of energy-saving lamps. Today, LEDs are repeating the road of energy-saving lamps.
